US youth envoy arrives

Abby Finkenauer, the United States Special Envoy for Global Youth Issues, arrived in Kathmandu as part of her South Asia tour, following a visit to Sri Lanka. Her tour from Nov 12 to 15 aims to strengthen America’s role in youth empowerment across the region, according to the US State Department. In Nepal, Finkenauer is scheduled to engage with local youth leaders and social media influencers. Her discussions will cover critical topics such as cyberbullying, misinformation and rumors, focusing on fostering digital safety and media literacy among young people.

The US Embassy in Nepal also announced that Finkenauer will attend various youth-oriented programs aimed at promoting civic engagement and empowering Nepali youth in social and civic spheres.
