Nepal approves action plan to operate Pokhara International Airport

Kathmandu–  The government has approved a plan of action for overall reforms in the civil aviation sector. A meeting of the Council of Ministers on August 12 also approved the plan of action on the operation of Gautam Buddha International Airport and Pokhara International Airport, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung said on Tuesday at a news conference at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
Both airports are operating at a loss due to the lack of international flights. Pokhara is in the national and international spotlight after China listed it as a BRI project. The airport was built under a Chinese loan. International Airlines are refusing to conduct flights from there.
