- Nepal’s Supreme Court has ordered the government not to expel four Bhutanese refugees. The United States of America has deported them to Bhutan, but the Bhutanese government did not allow them to stay there. Therefore, they had arrived in Nepal from Bhutan
- A key coalition partner, the Nepali Congress, has said that there is a need for more collaboration among the coalition partners on the functioning of the government, including the key appointments. Party spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat said Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s statement regarding the change in government should not be taken seriously
- Rastriya Swantra Party has decided to postpone the party’s general convention following the arrest of party President Rabi Lamichhane. The party’s convention was supposed to take place on May 9-10
- A parliamentary subcommittee investigating the construction of the Pokhara Regional International Airport has concluded that irregularities and corruption worth Rs 10bn (approx) occurred during the construction phase
- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has made it clear that inhuman and heinous crimes committed during the conflict cannot be forgiven while taking the transitional justice to the conclusion.
