Blinken speaks with Qatari PM for truce in Gaza
U.S Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
The Secretary and the Prime Minister discussed ongoing efforts to negotiate a ceasefire agreement that would alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and secure the release of hostages, according to Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel.
They underscored that the bridging proposal presented by negotiators addresses the remaining gaps in a manner that allows for swift implementation of the deal, he said.
The Secretary and Prime Minister discussed continuing to work together to convey that no party should take actions to undermine efforts to reach a deal. The Secretary expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for Qatar’s vital role in mediating negotiations and promoting regional peace, according to the spokesperson.
