Five Nepali rescued from Myanmar

Five Nepali nationals have been rescued from online scam centers in Myanmar, authorities have said.

According to Nepali Embassy in Thailand, five Nepali (four male and one female) rescued from scam centers have been repatriated to Nepal. Nepal Embassy has also appealed people to stay alert when they go abroad for the employment.

Thousands of foreigners are expected to be freed and returned from scam compounds in Myanmar in coming weeks. The compounds run by criminal gangs are staffed by foreigners, many who say they were trafficked and forced to work running internet scams swindling people around the world, according to AFP.
