Donald Trump has won the US election and will make a historic return to the White House. The Republican told jubilant crowds in Florida: “America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate.”
China said it hoped for “peaceful coexistence” with the United States Wednesday, as Donald Trump neared a decisive victory in the country’s presidential election. “We will continue to approach and handle China-US relations based on the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation,” foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning told a regular press briefing.

“We respect the choice of the American people,” she said. “After the US election results are released and officially announced, we will handle related matters by usual practice,” she added when asked if Chinese President Xi Jinping would call Trump to congratulate him.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday congratulated Donald Trump on his election victory, saying he would seek to “work together” to bolster the economies and security of both nations.
“The friendship between Canada and the U.S. is the envy of the world,” Trudeau posted X alongside a photo of the two during Trump’s previous term as president. “I know President Trump and I will work together to create more opportunity, prosperity, and security for both of our nations.
– German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Wednesday congratulated US presidential election winner Donald Trump and urged continued close trans-Atlantic ties, telling him in English: “We’re better off together”. “Together we can achieve much more than against each other,” added the center-left leader of Europe’s biggest economy.
