Nepal, US establish Bilateral Consultation Mechanism

An agreement has been reached between Nepal and the US to establish a Bilateral Consultation Mechanism amid a ceremony held in the state department. Foreign Minister Rana and Acting under Secretary for Political Affairs John Bass signed the agreement from the respective sides. Senior officials from both sides witnessed the signing ceremony. Nepal has mechanisms with several countries.

After the meeting, Rana said: “A historic milestone in Nepal-USA relations was achieved with the signing of the Bilateral Consultation Mechanism (BCM) Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). “She further added that the agreement facilitates deeper cooperation in the areas such as trade, investment, tourism, and infrastructures, thereby strengthening the foundation for meaningful and mutually beneficial cooperation between two countries.
